What is your patient care philosophy?
I believe in providing holistic care with dignity, respect and compassion.
What would you like people to know about you as a physician/provider?
I wanted to be a physician since I was 4 years old and joined medical school when I was 17 years old. I like nothing better than making a difference in human lives and my career as a physician has given me the opportunity to do so successfully.
How does your work improve lives?
In my work I focus on improving quality of life by helping to reduce pain, improving independent activities of daily living, and preventing deformities. I also focus on controlling the disease rather than just treating symptoms. I aim to enable patients to live the life they wish to live.
What are some interesting facts about you?
I am passionate about marine life and have saltwater and freshwater aquariums at home. My oldest surviving fish is over 18 years old – a percula clown. I am also passionate about cricket, the sport and reading fiction and non-fiction books (I read daily for pleasure). I have a personal collection of several thousand books at home. Currently trying to learn Spanish (my daughter knows Spanish) and American Sign Language (my son is a certified ASL interpreter).
