Provider: David Washington, MD

What is your patient care philosophy?

Treat the patient holistically with a comprehensive patient-centered care. Respect the patient’s personal values. Provide information and education concerning their medical problems. Maintain continuity of care by coordinating the patient’s primary preventive care and sub-specialty care.

What would you like people to know about you as a physician/provider?

The most rewarding thing about my career is making a difference in the lives of others. Also, being a physician, is a career of lifelong learning. As medical standards of care change, and development of new medical interventions occur, I am provided with an increased possibility to maximize the health and well-being of my patients. These are some of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. “Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts.” Albert Einstein.

How does your work improve lives?

My medical intervention for the patient can potentially optimize the patient’s quality of life, and functional capacity. This will allow the patient to make the best contribution to not only themselves, but to their families and the communities in which they live and work.
