¿Cuál es su filosofía de atención al paciente?
Every patient deserves my best – attitude, attention, and application of my education and skills. I try to meet my patients in the moment they are experiencing and walk with them through improving their health. I believe caring for patients is the purpose that God has put me on this earth for, and why He sustains me every day. This has been my mission field for decades.
¿Cómo su trabajo mejora vidas?
I believe that I change lives by involving myself with my patients and trying and using my training and experience to better their lives medically and with their mental health.
¿Cuáles son algunos datos interesantes sobre ti?
I was a foster parent for 10 years and have 4 adult, adopted sons. One has passed but spent 14 years serving our country as a Corpsman in the Navy. I have adult grandchildren and a 6-year-old grandson that brightens my weekends! I rescue dogs and currently have 4 lab mixes from 7-15 years of age.
I am a licensed pilot, but not active.
I am a certified open-water scuba diver.
I can hold my own in the kitchen and bought my current home as it had an unfinished kitchen. With the help of a chef friend I have a well-appointed space to cook.
I am a reasonably accomplished vocalist having sung in large choirs, my church praise teams, weddings, local events, and am comfortable singing in front of a few thousand folks (this far exceeds my comfort level with public speaking).
I became licensed as a wedding officiant and performed my grandson’s wedding (that was his idea, not mine, but it was fun).
I am a life-long learner, currently holding dual associate’s degrees, one bachelor’s degree, and dual Master’s. Not sure what’s next 🙂 I spent 15 years working as a government subcontractor for the Department of Defense and performed health exams on service members in many states, Puerto Rico (22 trips), and the Virgin Islands.
My family-owned small senior care facilities in rural Upstate New York, so I grew up learning about caring for others.
Nursing has allowed me to work in so many different facets of healthcare and helping others achieve better health has been a passion that God has allowed me to fulfill constantly.
