Provider: Yadira Torres, Psy.D., ACUE

I am excited about providing quality care to youth and their families in a warm environment. I am also looking forward to being able to work with the team. Providing access to behavioral health services in our local communities is vital.

What is your patient care philosophy?

I believe that patients and their families are the experts of their lives. My role as a behavioral health provider is to join them on their life journey to health and wellness by providing support, knowledge, and understanding.

What would you like people to know about you as a physician/provider?

I am a personable and fun-loving individual who finds fulfillment in supporting those in need including my patients, colleagues, family, and community. My greatest joy is seeing my patients and their families reach their goals and potential.

How does your work improve lives?

My work helps youth and their families learn about themselves, increase family cohesion, and communication through therapy, treatment, training, and skill building.

What are some interesting facts about you?

I enjoy cooking large meals and painting in my garage

What else would you like to share about yourself?

My favorite quote is, “How can you know what you’re capable of if you don’t embrace the unknown?” by Esmeralda Santiago. As an adolescent, her book, When I Was Puerto Rican, resonated with me as it described the fear and fearlessness of growing up within two cultures and the importance of embracing change and being hopeful for the future.
