Women's Health Update

Join us in San Francisco on April 15 -16, 2013 for California Family Health Council's (CFHC) 30th Anniversary Women's Health Update.

CFHC's 30th Anniversary Women's Health Update will include informative and dynamic plenary sessions and workshops featuring renowned sexual and reproductive health experts Michael Policar, MD, MPH, Anita Nelson, MD, and many more. A Pre-conference Clinical Practica and a special 30th anniversary reception will be presented on April 15th. The main conference will take place on April 16th.

Monday, April 15th

Clinical Practica - 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Early registration highly recommended. Continuing Education Credit available for sessions A and B.

• A) IUD Insertion + Removal
  Practicum participants will receive background information and learn insertion techniques for Mirena, ParaGard, and Skyla intrauterine contraceptives. Hands on practice will be supervised by experienced preceptors. Presenter: Patty Cason, MS, CFNP
• B) Advanced Colposcopy
  This practicum will present updates on cervical cytology screening guidelines, cytology pathology, colposcopic images and share advanced colposcopy case studies. (RX=0.25 hr) Presenter: Mary Rubin, RNC, PhD, CRNP, FAANP
• C) Nexplanon Insertion + Removal
  Participants will receive hands-on, supervised instruction on the insertion, localization, removal and re-insertion of Nexplanon (etonogestrel implant). Practicum attendees will also learn how to identify appropriate patients, prepare patients, and manage technical issues. Presenter: Courtney Benedict, CNM, MSN
